Recently a friend shared with me the pictures you are viewing. They shared how each picture looked when they first took the picture and also the way it looked the second time around. I was sent the picture because my friend thought perhaps I would have something worth writing about after looking at it and pondering the view of the picture. So, here I am and I do have something to share.
I was thinking of a couple of things this morning. As you all know if you’ve followed me for a while or know me personally, I enjoy food. I love seeing the beauty of a plate with various colors and I love preparing a variety of foods. I really enjoy baking and I was thinking about chocolate this morning. There are a variety of chocolates available. You can choose from dark chocolate with more health benefits, you can choose milk chocolate, (my favorite) there is also semi-sweet and bittersweet for baking. Each chocolate choice is specifically able to be used for a variety of recipes as well as eating. The choices remind me of different personalities. I think milk chocolate would be the personality that is sweet and pleasant; almost everyone enjoys milk chocolate. Dark chocolate would be the personality which would be enjoyed by quite a few, but only able to meet the needs of a lesser population because it hasn’t been known for its specific appeal overall. Semi-sweet is the chocolate personality who is moody a good portion of the time. It can only meet the needs of those who are not looking for the full effect of a complete and wholesome chocolate adventure. Bittersweet, well it almost describes itself. Half of the time it is sweet and then the other time, it is just plain old bitter and who wants that??? Bittersweet is the lesser of the chocolates when it comes to eating and enjoying a full chocolate flavor.
Now, you’re probably wondering what this has to do with the pictures above and also a lens. Well, when the picture was taken it was seen as a straight vine in the middle of the picture, hanging from a limb on a tree. When the light was upon the same vine, it was seen as a crooked vine and no longer straight. When the light shines on you and your life holistically, how are you perceived by others and also, what lens are you viewing from. Is the lens of your personal camera a lens that is clean enough and pure enough to allow you to see things and people with clarity or is it a lens in need of cleaning. If you had to define yourself as one of the personalities in the chocolate family, which would you be?
For those of you who wear glasses or have ever looked out of a window or lens that wasn’t clean, you understand what I am saying. You can either clean the lens (if it yours) or you can choose to look out of a different window if it isn’t your window or just leave the premises and find a different window and possibly a different view. What shall we do??
Let’s all (me included) keep our lens clean, have a full and enjoyable personality so when the light is upon us, others will be happy to see what is seen under the light. Onward for those chocolates!!!
Have an awesome day 🙂 and Happy Launching!
